FineIPTV on Smart TVs — Samsung, LG, Sony, Hisense, TCL.

If your TV already runs apps — Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video — it can almost certainly run FineIPTV too. This guide covers the four major smart-TV platforms sold in Canada: Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Sony Google TV, and Hisense/TCL Google TV or Roku TV.

How IPTV works on a smart TV

Unlike a Firestick or Android box, a smart TV runs its own operating system — Tizen on Samsung, webOS on LG, Google TV on Sony and most Hisense/TCL models, and Roku on some TCL models. That means the IPTV app ecosystem is narrower than on Android TV, but there's still a solid first-choice app on every platform: IPTV Smarters Pro or Smart IPTV (SIPTV).

You'll paste the M3U URL we email you, the app fetches the channel list and the EPG, and you're watching Sportsnet, TSN, RDS or TVA in under 10 minutes — without a second box plugged in.

Best app by platform

Step-by-step: Samsung Tizen

  1. Press the Home button on your Samsung remote.
  2. Go to Apps → search for IPTV Smarters Pro.
  3. Install it. Open it. Accept the terms.
  4. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API or Load your playlist or file/URL — whichever matches the format we sent you (both work; Xtream is smoother for EPG).
  5. Paste your credentials (username, password, server URL) or the M3U URL.
  6. Name the profile "FineIPTV" and tap Add User.
  7. The app loads the catalogue in 60–90 seconds. Favourite your core Canadian channels and you're done.

Step-by-step: LG webOS

  1. Press HomeLG Content Store → search IPTV Smarters Pro.
  2. Install and open.
  3. Same flow as Samsung: Xtream Codes login or M3U URL. Paste credentials. Save.
  4. On webOS 6+ TVs, set the Magic Remote pointer mode on — the app's UI benefits from it.

Step-by-step: Sony / Hisense / TCL (Google TV)

  1. Open the Play Store on the TV.
  2. Search TiviMate — install the free version (you can upgrade to Premium in-app later).
  3. Open TiviMate → Add playlistEnter URL.
  4. Paste the M3U URL from your FineIPTV email. Name it "FineIPTV". Tap Next.
  5. TiviMate pulls the channel list and EPG. Set timezone to your Canadian zone.

Troubleshooting on smart TVs

"Buffering" every few seconds

Smart TVs usually have weaker Wi-Fi chips than a Firestick 4K Max. If you see buffering, move the TV to 5 GHz (your router settings), or run a short Ethernet cable if your TV has the port — virtually every Canadian smart TV 2020+ does.

App not available in my region

On older Samsung / LG sets, the IPTV Smarters Pro listing is sometimes geo-restricted. SIPTV (Smart IPTV) is the well-known fallback — both store the M3U URL server-side, so setup is a two-step process: install the app, then add your MAC address on siptv.app. We document the MAC step on request — WhatsApp support if you end up there.

No 4K channel output

Most Canadian feeds are 1080p50 today. Only select UK/US premium sports carry true 4K. If you expected 4K and see 1080p, that's the channel's feed, not your TV or app.

When a smart TV isn't enough

If your TV is pre-2018, has a sluggish menu, or runs a version of webOS/Tizen too old to install Smarters, a $40 Firestick Lite plugged into HDMI is the fastest fix — it'll outrun most 2018-era smart-TV processors and unlock TiviMate, which is a meaningfully better IPTV experience.

Smart TV & device FAQ

Straight answers to the questions Canadian IPTV shoppers actually ask.

What do I actually receive when I subscribe?
An M3U playlist URL (for apps like TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, Perfect Player), plus an Xtream Codes username/password/server for apps that prefer that format. Both reach the same catalogue. Setup on most devices takes under 5 minutes using our step-by-step guides at /setup-guides.
I'm not technical. Can I set this up?
Yes. The shortest path is: install a player app on your device (Firestick = Downloader app → install TiviMate; Smart TV = Smart IPTV app; iPhone/iPad = IPTV Smarters Pro from the App Store), paste the playlist URL we send you, and you're watching. If you get stuck, WhatsApp us a screenshot and we'll walk you through it.
Which devices does FineIPTV work on?
Amazon Firestick (4K Max, Lite, Cube), Android TV, Google TV, Samsung Smart TV, LG Smart TV, Apple TV (4th gen and later), iPhone/iPad, Android phones/tablets, Windows/Mac, Mag boxes, Formuler, Dreamlink, Enigma2, and any device that runs TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, Perfect Player, GSE Smart IPTV or Smart IPTV. See /supported-devices for per-device setup guides.
Can I watch on multiple devices at the same time?
Standard allows 2 simultaneous streams. Pro allows 5. You can install the app on as many devices as you own — the limit is on concurrent streams, not installations.
Can I cast to a Chromecast or Apple TV AirPlay?
Yes, with some app-specific caveats. IPTV Smarters on iPhone supports AirPlay to Apple TV. TiviMate on Android supports Chromecast on Pro subscriptions (of TiviMate's own subscription, not ours). Full guide at /setup-guides.
Can I use my own IPTV player (TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, etc.)?
Absolutely — that's the normal way to use our service. We don't lock you into a house app. Pick your favourite player from our /setup-guides list and paste in the playlist URL we send you.
Will my Rogers, Bell, Telus, Shaw or Videotron internet handle 4K IPTV?
Yes. For a single 4K stream you need roughly 25 Mbps of sustained download speed. Every fibre and most cable plans from Rogers, Bell Fibe, Telus PureFibre, Shaw and Videotron comfortably exceed that. On a 1 Gbps Canadian plan you can run five simultaneous 4K streams without breaking a sweat. If you're on a 50 Mbps DSL plan you'll want HD rather than 4K. See our speed-requirements section in How it works for the full table.
What internet speed do I actually need for IPTV in Canada?
Minimums per stream: SD ≥ 5 Mbps, HD ≥ 10 Mbps, FHD ≥ 15 Mbps, 4K UHD ≥ 25 Mbps. Add headroom for other household traffic. On 5 GHz Wi-Fi within ~3 m of your router you'll hit those easily; over 2.4 GHz or through thick walls you may not. Wired Ethernet is always the most reliable.
