Privacy policy
Last updated 17 September 2026. This policy is written to meet the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for Québec residents, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector as amended by Law 25.
The short version
We collect the least we can: an email address, a record that a payment was made, whatever you tell support, and ordinary server logs. We never see or store card numbers. We do not sell personal information, we do not run advertising, and we do not build viewing profiles. You can ask for what we hold, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent, by emailing support@fineiptv.com.
1. Who is responsible
FineIPTV, the Canadian operation of ProTV, operating fineiptv.com, is responsible for the personal information described here. The person accountable for our compliance with privacy law, including the role of person in charge of the protection of personal information under Québec law, can be reached at support@fineiptv.com with “Privacy” in the subject line.
2. What we collect and why
| Information | Where it comes from | Why we use it | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email address | The trial form or the order form | To send your login, service notices and replies to your messages | While the plan or trial is active and for 12 months after, then deleted unless a tax record requires it |
| Payment confirmation | The payment processor (card, PayPal) or the Interac e-Transfer notice | To match a payment to an order, issue refunds and keep tax records | As long as Canadian tax law requires, generally six years from the end of the tax year |
| Device, app and ISP details | What you send to support | To diagnose a problem and answer you | With the support thread, for 12 months after the last message |
| Login usage | The streaming servers | To enforce the plan’s screen limit and detect sharing or abuse | Rolling 30 days |
| Server and website logs | Our web server | Security, error diagnosis, capacity | Rolling 90 days |
We do not ask for a name, postal address, phone number, date of birth or any government identifier. If you include such details in a support message we do not use them for any other purpose and delete them with the thread.
If you message us on WhatsApp, we see your phone number and the messages you send. We use them only to answer you and to set up your trial or subscription, and WhatsApp’s own privacy terms also apply to that conversation.
3. Payments and card numbers
Card payments are taken by a payment processor on its own secure pages. The card number, expiry and security code go to the processor and never to us; we receive a confirmation that a payment was made, the amount, the last four digits where the processor provides them, and a transaction reference. PayPal payments work the same way through PayPal. Interac e-Transfers show us the sender’s name and email as the bank presents them. We keep no stored card on file, which is also why no plan can renew on its own.
4. Viewing data
We do not build a record of what you watch. The streaming servers count how many screens a login is playing at a time, to apply the two- or five-screen limit, and keep short connection logs for security. Those logs are not used to profile you or shared for advertising.
5. Cookies and analytics
The website uses only the cookies needed for the contact and trial forms to work and, where enabled, a privacy-respecting page-count analytics tool that does not set cross-site cookies or identify individuals. We do not run advertising trackers. Your browser’s cookie settings control what is stored, and the site works with cookies refused.
6. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers that need it to do their job for us: the payment processor, the email provider that delivers your login, and the hosting company that runs the website. Each is bound to use the information only for that purpose. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it with broadcasters, advertisers or data brokers.
Some of these providers, and the streaming servers themselves, are located outside Canada, including in the European Union, so your information may be stored or processed there and subject to the laws of that place. We choose providers with contractual safeguards and, for Québec residents, we have assessed the privacy factors of these transfers as Law 25 requires.
We disclose personal information to a court, a regulator or a law-enforcement body only when a valid legal demand requires it, and we tell you when the law allows us to.
7. Your rights
You may ask us, at any time and free of charge, to tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it; to correct anything that is wrong; to delete it, subject to records we are required to keep for tax purposes; to withdraw consent to a use, which may mean we can no longer provide the Service; and, for Québec residents, to receive it in a structured, commonly used format.
Email support@fineiptv.com with “Privacy” in the subject line. We answer within 30 days, and if we refuse a request we tell you why and how to challenge that with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Québec, the Commission d’accès à l’information.
8. Security
Logins and support records are held on access-controlled systems, transmitted over encrypted connections and reachable only by the people who support you. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we notify you and the Privacy Commissioner, and the Commission d’accès à l’information for Québec residents, as the law requires.
9. Children
The Service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and a trial or order that we learn was placed by a minor is closed and the information deleted.
10. Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes and the new version is posted here. If a change would materially affect how we use information we already hold, we email active subscribers before it takes effect.
